The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Headquarters' Survey and Mapping Office, located in Tumwater, WA is looking for a Geodetic Field Engineer. This office is a specialty statewide cost recovery center and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the geographic framework that provides the up to date statewide datum reference for WSDOT project delivery. They establish geodetic survey control, bathymetric, photogrammetric and Terrestrial Lidar (3DTL) as built mapping technology and structural monitoring for WSDOT project delivery.
This position will serve as the Geodetic Field Engineer providing technical field expertise for geodetic, photogrammetric, bathymetric, and LiDAR specialty control, mapping, and monitoring surveys and directs the efficient function of field parties on extensive statewide survey activities. The incumbent should be proficient with computer applications and survey instruments. Statewide travel will be required with overnight stays up to 80% of the year.
