This workshop will include basic contract types and when they may apply.  RCW and WAC definitions that apply to PW contracts, and basic PW bid submittal requirements.  L and I will present on L and I requirements for prevailing wage and Public Works contracts. 

SPEAKERS:

Chuck Ziegert Industrial Relations Specialist Washington Department of Labor and Industries.

Chuck Ziegert is a technical specialist on the state’s prevailing wage law.  He is employed by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. After a successful military career, Chuck joined L&I in 2008 and the prevailing wage program in 2011. He understands the perspectives of public contract awarding agencies, contractors, workers and labor unions. 

Melissa jordan, CPPB, Assoc DBIA Contracts Specialist II King County

Melissa Jordan has been in the public procurement field for over 15 years.  Melissa is currently employed as a Contracts Specialist 2 in the Construction section of Procurement and Payables at King County.  Melissa has previously worked at Pierce County, Sound Transit, and University of Washington where she developed small works rosters procedures, Job Order Contracting processes, and procured everything from a 500 dollar fencing project to a multi-million dollar Design Build project.  Melissa is the current chair of the Contract Administration Education Committee and holds a CPPB and Associate DBIA certification.
