Description :MPAC (Virtual): Protecting Puget Sound Groundwater Please join us virtually on January 13th for our annual MPAC event put on by the UW Student Chapter of APWA. This annual event brings students and industry professionals together around an interesting public works topic and seeks to facilitate networking between UW students and professionals. This virtual meeting features three professionals in water resources presenting how local communities are protecting and enhancing groundwater supplies: Reclaimed water, what it is and how it is used in Washington, Jaqueline Klug- King County Wastewater Treatment Division Using reclaimed water to recharge aquifers and the associated challenges, Jeff Hansen –HDR Engineering, Inc Protecting our Shallow Aquifers in a growing community, Amanda Balzer –City of Redmond Their presentations will be followed by breakout rooms where students and professionals (including the presenters) can network regarding these presentation topics, current topics in public works, or career advice. Please join us and support the future generation of public works professionals.
