SDOT’s Office of Move Seattle: A Seattle Area Construction Market Analysis

The Office of Move Seattle was created to take a wholistic view of the Levy to Move Seattle and make recommendations on the strategic direction and provide information to be leveraged by executives to make informed decisions to achieve the Levy and other commitments. The office also develops and improves the department’s portfolio management business processes. Jeff will include discussion regarding stakeholder feedback, market-study findings, and the lessons learned from a recent study he led which analyzed the local Seattle construction market variables and trends that are impacting costs.

About the Speaker -- Jeff Lundstrom, PE, DBIA, is a licensed engineer, certified in alternative delivery for a wide variety of transportation programs, with over 26 years of design and construction management experience in both the public and private sectors. As Seattle Department of Transportation’s Deputy Director of the Office of Move Seattle, Jeff strategically coordinates with senior staff in all divisions to holistically focus on planning, analyzing, delivering, and reporting for the nine-year $1.8 billion Levy to Move Seattle portfolio. He specializes in project cost estimating, including annual escalation rates. Jeff analyzes trends and makes recommendations to help ensure the success of SDOT. He developed several management process improvements including the risk management system and spending plan analysis, as well as representing SDOT in the development of the new department-wide project portfolio management tool.
