Join the APWA CM Committee for a free lunch (including free parking!) on September 7, 2017 in Redmond. This session will focus on risks to project owners as they progress their projects from final design and into construction with more focus on:

  • New proposed/upcoming legislation that could affect project risks
  • Current trends in case law that could affect an owner’s approach to construction management
  • Best practices for positioning projects for success and how to avoid claims


Stan Beck is a member of the Construction Services Group at Lane Powell. He received his engineering and law degrees from the University of Washington, where he graduated with honors and served as Editor of the Washington Law Review.  Stan serves as counsel for public and private owners, design firms, insurers, product manufacturers, and numerous professional organizations and societies.

Andrew Gabel is a member of Lane Powell’s Construction Services Group and concentrates his practice on representing public and private owners, design professionals, and insurers.  He focuses his practice on risk management and litigation, including mediation and arbitration.  In addition to his litigation practice, he also counsel’s clients on minimizing risk through contracts.
